    Default crappie trader

    I'm a newbie too

I live on table rock near the cape fair area. Yea we catch some crappies but if you’re going to have a fish fry for 4 that’s two weeks of fishing LOL. Live here 3 years biggest is 16 incher. Yep catch lots and lots of shorty’s. Wonder what happens to them they seem to disappear. LOL I've had one day where i caught my limit of fish in 3 years. Its usally 3 here 2 there kind of fishing.

Last week or so I made a trip to Kansas City and travel through the Warsaw area on the way back. What I saw was a bunch of fellows around the dam area fishing with jigs. But what impress me is it was in the 20s and the wind was just blowing out of the north. It was ball biting cold. They were using jigs too. I’ve haven’t use jigs since I moved from Kaw Lake in Ok. On the rock I use a very small hook tip with minnows and let it drift down slowly.

I live right on this lake so I never went too far with my boat trailer. I got it in the shop getting those bearing check out and a tune up. Going to make my way up there real soon too bucksaw area and give it a try. If I like it I’m going to rent storage for my 20 ft. G3 flat bottom.

I love Crappie fishing but I also get after those channelcats and I love taking my grandkids after bluegills.
I haven’t posted much on this board because there’s nothing to talk about on the Rock. Same old same old
    Thinking of moving up there.

Hope to get know some of you.

Welcome Charley....be careful....you get hooked up with some of the Truman guys and you might break your chin when it hits the floor...that's because they throw 16"ers back. Too short!!

Hey everybody my name is Seth, brand new to this site and new to the Smithville Lake area. I grew up down on Truman lake and have been crappie fishing for as long as I can remember. I got a 14 foot jon boat, but do most of my fishing from my kayak. Does anybody else do any kayak fishing around here? Would love to get together with some other anglers since we are new here we don't know a lot of people in the area. Also being new to the lake I"m not real familiar with all the hot spots. Good luck out there and lets rip some lips.

welcome to the site from Lawson Mo.

A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it
