Slabin, I know what you mean about the entertainment. I watched a guy weld 30 minutes on 3 pieces of steal and when he picked up one end they fell apart. I told him if he would grind off them buggers I would show him how to burn it together.

I was training a co-worker to weld. The arc hurt his eyes with a 10 glass. The 12 glass didn't help so he bought a 14. After a double pass, pretty weld, I taped it with a hammer and snaped his weld.
I used a 4 to 10 on different jobs. One pass on must jobs. Not much welding since '08. The hardest things I try now are thin metals.

I agree on the thin metals. I bought a 140 -110 v to do body panels when I restored my '69 bronco. Learning not to warp the metal was the hardest part.
