I have a customer with a brake that can bend up to 1/2 steel. I’m going to get him to bend it for me and weld that brace on with another piece of tubing and flat bar welded above that as another step. Still trying to figure out where to put the handle though

The support plate on the other side of the trailer frame. If you'll be using square tube for the handle a piece of square stock could be welded to the support. If the handle is to close to the steps a couple of bends could be added to the square stock to off set it.

If I had them on a trailer to launch from I might could use a step.

I contacted Mr Gene last winter about steps, and he had done something in the past and doesn't want to get into that arena....

These steps are beginning to seem like more of a hassle than they should. How bad is a couple busted teeth anyways??

I checked my stash of square tube today. All I have is 3/4, 1 and 1 1/2" thin and medium wall. I might be light weight, but won't go under 1 1/2" thick wall. I'll check a scrap dealer next week.

Medicare doesn't pay for teeth so I'd be living with them for a while.

All depends on boat and trailer, how flexible you are, how your balance is , steps on how long your stride is, how big a step depends on how big your foot is better to big than to small. Handle on top step .have to have a handle. If you fish in the winter don/t forget to allow for winter clothes on step distance. Lot difference with or without coveralls and boots.
