I think that's a good move. At 82-84 degrees, I think the water needs to warm up some to make em bite the cranks better. Might try slowing down some on the cranks like Tommy did to win the championship.

Caught good messes Saturday and Sunday on Enid.....
Shallower and slower tthan normal. I was catching them at 10 feet down and 1.5 mph. Not saying that this will still work this weekend, but that is where I am gonna start on Saturday!

You do not have to go fast to catch them. Depends on what the fish want that day. I have caught them going so slow that when a big one would hit it would nock the pole completely straight/slack them the pole would load back up. I do alot of pulling from 1.2 - 1.6. Take note if the fish are inhaling the bait or are you pulling them in barely hanging on by one hook.

Early bird gets the worm.Biting earlier than those 10:30 start times this past weekend. Saturday I had 12 in the boat by 8:15 when couch showed up.then by 11 they shut off for us. We moved. Nothing. Moved again .Nothing. went back from where we left em and only caught a few more. Hope this helps !!

Thinking about this week's trip, everything was on the back hook.
It also seems I catch a bunch on the inside baits when turning. I haven't ever considered those patterns as an indicator to change speed.
