I've found that we never truly finish working on our boats. Always adding, modifying, deleting or upgrading something
And that goes triple for us who have more than one boat. Is fiviple a word? :biggrin
I think it is now!!!
I would also except Quintiple, or sinco de iple for those south of the boarder
Never wanted to be the one along the side if the road because I didn't do any maintenance.
A few weeks back I blew out a tire on my cargo trailer and was lucky to have a jack and spare tire, my tires were old and always took it for granted they would last forever.
As I was under my boat trailer replacing the carpet on my bunk boards I seen some bad spots on my tires so I just had some new ones put on, now its time to replace and repack my bearings, hopefully I should have a worry free season.
I bought a bearing grease packer, looks like cool way to pre load your bearings, anyone ever use them
Hey Jim, you should put bearing buddies on their , they work really good
Heading to the ultimate sport show at devos place today around 5pm.
Anyone else going?
It's time for me to do the same Jimmy. I always prepackaged mine by hand.
We had a good time...

We got to chat with the OffShore Tackle crew, as well as many ther vendors we've crossed paths with. My wife made some connections and got some business cards for possible Crappie Camp prizes.
It was a great way to spend a Saturday with the family.
It's always nice to have quality time with family. I'm goin to the show tommorow
Good picture Al and glad to see you supporting CDC
After being mistaken for a bass fisherman so many times at the show in Detroit, I wore the CDC jersey so there was no doubt.
Anyone ever heard of Pinnicle electronics and trolling motors? A friend of mine just bought a used Lund with them on it.
Never heard of them myself. How old is the boat?
I googled pinnacle and it came up in the late 80s early 90s mostly. An off brand Motorguide it appears.
Here's what he picked up...

He sure got a good one!!! Would be nice if there was a lower unit. lol might go a bit faster
When I got my boat back in 2002, it had a Pinpoint brand FF in it. I tho't it was made by Pinnacle Marine, which is no longer. If I remember correctly, it had GPS capabilities and a ton of buttons, but it didn't work. At that time the only place I could find that repaired them was in Dallas, and it was going to be costly so I opted for new.
Hes got the lower. The motor was overheated and the lower was taken apart to inspect, then never put back together. The buddy that bought it got it for a good enough price, that he could rebuild the motor and still be money ahead.
Hes got MinnKota and Lowrance stuff on his other boat he might switch over before he sells it. Or maybe he will buy all new. Them Lund guys have deep pockets. :-)
He wanted to know if the stuff was worth putting on eBay or something.
Please say a prayer about this: New doctor found that a heart murmur I had from youth has gotten worse. I am going to have a heart cath to determine if I need heart valve replacement. The doctor (second opinion) is pretty sure it will need to be replaced but we have to go through the tests. I did not have any symptoms, the Dr. picked up a whistle sound when listening to my heart and sent me for an echocardiogram results showed a weak aortic valve. He said it's good that they caught it early before any damage to the heart muscle. Retirement is great but "gettin old" has it's issues. From what he says he thinks this can be done with a two inch incision - not open heart. Prayers will be appreciated.
Mike,
You and Tiff will be in my thoughts and prayers. Modern medicine is a meracle and you should be back on your feet in no time. Glad you had a doctor that took the time to listen and go with his instinct.
Good luck.
Aaahhhh...a clean barn. Notice no snow blower on the tractor. Now I can start to concentrate on getting the boat and tackle set for the season.Attachment 196867
Looks good, where is the new log splitter at
Wish my barn looked like that. Right now, it looks like a bomb exploded and took all my ice fishing gear with it. I'm in there 4 nights a week but that is only to pour the thousands of walleye jigs I've been selling over the last couple of months. I do know this, I can back my truck up to the boat, hook it up and remove it without having to move anything. So I have my priorities straight. Might have to drop the bucket on the Kubota and push stuff out of the way to get that thing out right now though.
Attachment 198092. Found some open water for ice out trolling, was a great day ended with a two man limit
If I wasn't stuck at work waiting on 5 pallets of equipment to show up, I'd be on the water. I'll be out later this week
Way to go Kev. I would guess your on Sag. Bay out of Linwood?
Yep sag bay is still being good to us, I'm still learning different technics. Maybe one day I'll be really good at catchin these walleyes. Lol
Kevin , you are hard core!!! great job on the fish.
I'll see you guys on Saturday I'm sure. I'll be down on Friday testing the waters. Friday is supposed to be decent in the area with no rain but a heavy west wind. Usually not bad however as it is coming across land before it hits the water. I'm going to head up stream and fish the stomping grounds I showed you last year. Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be nice however I suspect a heavy flotilla of boats. Once I make my test runs, I'll be contacting a couple CDC guys that I promised to take fishing.
Here is a couple new jigs I have been working on:
