I prefer finding the fish with my rod and reel. I definitely catch less than other folks. But it is still 1000% better than relaxing on the couch. I wish I could get out more than I do.

I don't have the budget to spend on high dollar electronics even if I wanted to. I don't have 20 or thirty expensive rods and reels either just a few fairly decent pieces of equipment that work just fine. I don't need any electronic hand holding to make them work.

Yeah, I describe myself as "old school". Olde pharte is another way to describe me. At 77 my time on the water is precious to me. I don't want to spend that time playing video games.
My boat is 23 years old thru all the years I have never purchased brand new electronics, trolling motors or graphs has saved me a ton of money over the years, and makes it much more affordable for me. Just like vehicles have never owned a brand new one not even any of my boats as it was all used over the years. I am a cheapskate and I admit it, my three Helix 12,s Gen 3`s, 360, Mega Live and Ulterra all purchased used I have roughly $5,800 in it and thoroughly enjoy using all of it
