scott pretty much summed it up. as did jig rig. the one thing you wont be is hungry. LOL
my crew gets there thursday morning around 10 and fishes til around 4. then we check in the cabin and fish most of the day friday. then we strap on the feed bags for a pot luck supper, which normally includes gumbo, jambalaya, boudin balls, butt bites, just to name a few. and more desserts you could ever eat. then we roll ourselves to our bunks and fish most of the day saturday. everone normally donates some of their catch for the fish fry that night. but we also usually have fried shrimp, quail, peanuts, killer hush puppies, and another round of desserts.
we usually have a big fish pot for friday and saturday. normally costs 5$/man/day. paid at supper each night.
then we normally pack up sunday morning and head home. it is the highlight of my fishing year. great stories and even greater friends. i guarantee you will enjoy yourself, and probably catch a mess or two of fish.
cant wait to see ya!!

We eat about anything and I'll start a tracking thread a little later so we don't end up with 15 pots of chili. Lol.... Just so everyone knows who is bringing what. Then you can just let me know if you'd like to bring something. We are in cabin 2, so we'll see ya there!
scott, when you get your list started you can put me down for butt bites, name tags/sharpies, and some soda pops!! i will do more if needed. thanks for spearheading the food again!!

i wanna thank RMGEORGE for reserving the pavillion for us. but here is another thought that we might wanna consider. we talk about this every year and just never do it. they have a group "cabin" that will sleep about 30, with two private bedrooms. the other sleeping arrangements is bunk style. but here is the biggest draw to getting the group cabin. they have a commercial style kitchen, and dining room that is much bigger than a normal cabin. we could have plenty of space for everyone to eat, and plenty of stove/oven room for preparing food. also, unlike the pavillion, we could drop off cookers, etc on friday and it would be secure and safe while we fished. it would require three groups of us, or more, to make this happen. the cost of the group cabin, as i recall, is about 2 and a half the cost of a normal cabin. so if three of us that have a cabin rented would be willing to "trade" our cabin for the group cabin, it would actually reduce our cost. and then we would have plenty of room for anyone who needed a place to stay at the last minute. my group doesnt need either of the private bedrooms since it will be just guys in my party.
if anyone is willing to consider going in with me and my group in this group cabin let me know. if we do this this year and it is not as good as we hope, we can always go back to individual cabins next year.
james, southern chuter, is going to get us some pics of the group cabin so we can know better what we are dealing with. also he will find out what options we have if we have already reserved a cabin.
we have grown so much we just need more space. yall think about and look for more info and pics.

Mark...I placed a notice of our gathering in "State Message Boards" under "Place State Events Here" with a link to this thread......we can add other pertinent links to it if necessary.....
The "King" is coming
This could be the Day....
RETIRED LOUISIANA CRAPPIE HUNTER
I went by the state park but couldn't go in the group camp; it's booked. I saw some pictures of it and they look good; has a private room for two on each end and a dorm; sleeps a total of 52. Has a commercial kitchen with huge fridge; deep fryer, etc. $250 per night; only problems is it's booked on our weekend according to reserve America.......
Need some info. About what time does the pot luck start? The kids will be in school and we're about 4 1/2 hrs away. Need to figure out if we'll have to early out Friday. We'll probably be tent camping. Can't pull the boat and camper together. I hope this can work out for us. We've wanted to make one of the gatherings for a while.
