Please allow me to pay my 2 cents worth on this subject. I spider-rig exclusively. I have learned this method and became obsessed with it. In summer when its HOT!!! I have the best luck trolling very slowly and following the river channel ledges in water ranging from 16 to 30 feet. I use live minners also because that's what I like. Start early in the 16 foot range and as the sun rises adjust your bait deeper. It works great for me most of the time. Except for the days you just cant buy a bite anywhere, We've all had those days.
