I Tightline with a black and chartuse tube jig on one jig pole. I like to swim a 3tail with a spinn cast too . Pretty much do this year round. I haven't felt the need to spider rig. I like to feel the bump.

Freebird... did that big white bass boat have three tier rod holders to hold the unused rods. The one I saw on the bonne about three months ago was an impressive work of Art

I am getting my boat rigged up for spider rigging. I have a rod rack now that holds 4 rods, but I am getting more so that I can put more rods in the water. I did spider rig, ( sort of) about 2 months ago and caught 4 nice fish, but I lost 3 others from not having a proper net. I have one now. I am hoping to get better at this type of fishing this summer. It takes a pretty good investment to get set up properly, with all the rods and pole holders requirred. but once you have it all purchased, they should last quite a while. Let us know how it goes.

the one thing i have learned is that in the dead of winter, the fish are very close to the bottom in the deeper water. but in the summer, they are more suspended. maybe a foot or two off the bottom. but when you find them and the right depth, it's on like a chicken bone.

be sure to let us know how you do when it heats up.

What depth do you usually stick to in the summer for rigging?

Doc, 42 shiners at a time? You're a dedicated shiner fisherman for sure! You've got me and Bruce beat hands down. What size minner bucket/chest do you tote? I put out three rods at the most with double drop shots rigs. Jig sometimes on the bottom rig. My next trip I'll put out one rig with shiners, and tightline another with some road runners Skip sent me.
