Had to get out. Went in the James for a few hours this morning. Crappie were where they were supposed to be and they were cooperative. Caught 50 crappie. 3 white perch. 4 catfish. 1 bass.
BUT ,highly variable is the bite .....
sometimes it's slack lines , sometimes it pecks , sometimes it's a thump .....
every day seems to be different ...

Gary and I had a great morning of crappie fishing as the big girls showed up to play. I got us started off with a 14.5” slab black crappie on a 2” Slab Slayer and in water over 20 feet deep.
Met up with my fishing bud just before noon.
The lake level is slightly above full pool .
The ramp we met at was overrun with boaters putting in and taking out , especially for a Wednesday.
