I was throwing my 4mm size 14 inline micro jigs on a 5’2” SeaSir Stream rod paired up with a Carbon X 500 reel and 2# Ande yellow line .
The heat was already running us to any shaded areas we could find where we might catch a fish .
Most of the fish were all on the fun size , no whoppers . But I caught numbers , fifty one gills and small bass .
Just before we were about to leave , I finally got my buddy to try my outfit with my micro jig . In less than five minutes , he caught three from a spot that had only given up a couple in the last hour on what he’d been using .
He told me , “ no wonder you’ve been kicking my butt with numbers “
I told him, “ I tried to give a few jigs to try , but you’d rather use yours “ haha l
He couldn’t believe it made that big of a difference.
I brought one of his combos home with me to spool up with some 2#Ande line for him and he’s going to try and duplicate a jig that’ll mimic my jigs , but just in case , I’ll have him a small assortment of my jigs to try next week.
What these fish lacked in size they made up with colors . This reservoir has some beautiful panfish swimming in it .
