Another thing to consider ... is whether or not the COE has to be paid a permit fee for a tournament (on a COE lake)?? And if so, is there a minimum number of boats required before any such fee comes into effect ??

Personally, I'm good with the 2nd draft rules as they stand ... but we'd still have to have some way of identifying other boats in the tourney.

Paying in advance could work ... but that would require mailing your entry fee(s) to someone that would be at every tournament. And if that person would have to back out at the last moment, for whatever reason ... then what ?? This crossed my mind when considering the rule of allowing any ramp to be used, or having a single launch point.

why do we need to know who is fishing in the tourney after it starts? just dont run on top of anyone problem solved. i have never seen a problem of someone fishing to close in a crappie tourney. and if the trolling motor isnt down dont matter anyway.

    i must have missed something

why dont we go with the anchored down rule of 50' and use common sense on fished to close.

nobody worry slabslayer1 is a fish massager and netter not a navigator.

i have been fishing tournament since 2009 and never seen or had a problem with it.

I have a 52' rope I am tying on to t.slabseeker I just want to get a shirt don't care about the money. I won't to see how the pros do it. Seriously we are making this way to complicated. Take the 2Nd draft and lets fish. You can't make rules to satisfy everyone. Go with majority and any one who doesn't want to fish can stay home.
The only thing better than a day of fishing. Is a week of fishing.

I'm retired and can make the trips depending on time of year. I'd love to fish more KY lakes as the only two i've fished are Ky lake and Barkley. Coming down late march and may stay for a couple months then. Actually trying to decide if i want to move there in the area i've been visiting for over 25 years. Not trying to start an argument. This is a discussion for setting rules, right. Just giving my POV. Hope you're not offended.

.... it would be lovely if it were that simple. And once we get the rules/lakes/dates/times finalized, and as fair to everyone as possible, then it will be "that simple".

I think we're pretty close to finalizing the rules. And we have the lakes being voted on, and pretty close to finalization. Next poll will be what months to have the tourneys.

Start time will likely be depending on what months are chosen, and at least 30mins after sunrise (local time), since that would give the Weighmaster time to collect fees & team member names, get everyone launched, etc. Then, the stop fishing time will likely be 3PM ... with weigh-in times starting at 330PM. Or we could set another start/stop/weigh-in time by poll vote ... or whatever. Just remember ... if we have 15-20 boats or so, and all team members must be in the weigh-in line together ... and the weigh-in ramp doesn't have a marina to dock some/all of the boats ... then what ?? You'll either have to trailer your boat (possibly in a crowd) or we'll have to change the rule to say that only one team member has to be in the weigh-in line.

Personally, I don't see these tournaments starting before March ... and having very many participants. We're likely to be lucky to pull off 3 or 4 tourneys, without weather or water level cancellations, as it is ... especially when we pick the lake/date several months in advance. Not to mention ... we don't even know how we're going to pick the lake for each month chosen. Is it going to require another poll, random draw from a hat, arbitrarily pick someone to choose a lake, or choose by which lake is the hardest/easiest to catch fish in during that month
These are "tournaments", and you only have to catch 7 fish ... so do we want easy or hard situations to fish in ??

Yeah lets fish. I was joking about the whole pro thing and anyone who knows me should know I don't discriminate against fishermen/women. Nothing would make me happier than fishing against Ronnie Capps or Wally Marshall or any other pro team, I truly live for the tourneys and the competition that comes with them. If they wasn't any competition it wouldn't be any fun and no-one would ever get any better at fishing, and if they did get better how would you know without competition. I don't care what the rules turn out to be if they are tourneys and competition I will be there. Im sorry for the misunderstanding I didn't think about people not knowing what was going on, I'm just big on the whole b.s. Part.
