you said "2 people trollingdown a bank and meet" in that case you should follow the rules of the road as if you were running wide open it's still the same since both boats are moving. However if one boat is NOT moving then you should go around. Some people anchor using spot lock on their "I-Pilot and therefore would need their trolling motor down the hold on their spot.

I dont get why everyone doesn't want to launch from the same ramp. Everyone has to weigh in at the same ramp dont they. Dont see the diffrence in saving gas to get to the launch site/ weigh in site, before or after the tourney. Not fair to launch closer to your honey hole than someone else does. And what about checking livewells before everyone launches. Honor system? Money changes SOME peoples honor. Everyone should launch at the same ramp.

On most lakes it doesnt matter about putting in at same ramp but on big lakes it does. if it is not fair to be able to put in closer to a honey hole. then everyone one should have the exact same size motor on there boat. it is not fair for someone to have a 250 and the other guy have a 25. there is no difference in putting in at different ramp as there is on having a big motor. and you are right money changes people but if the money you win in these tourney changes you then you shouldnt be fishing period. in my opinion putting in at any ramp makes it fair for everyone.

To me it's not so much an issue of saving gas as it is a safety issue.

On a big lake like KY. Say you agree on Big Bear Boat ramp. You have a 20 mph North wind the day of the Tourny. You wanna fish Jonathon or one of the bays on the LBL side. A team that's not as familiar with what Ky. Lake can become in those conditions, might try the run... That could turn into a BAD DAY! Even a short run can turn into a life and death situation in the blink of an eye.

I feel from a safety standpoint, you should be able to launch at the ramp you feel safest launching from.

    Just food for thought.

Wiskers has a point about it being a safety issue as well. Everyone that is going to fishing theses tourney is looking at spending some money. Entry fee, truck and boat gas, food, motels, bait ect..... At the same time, everyone is going to be looking at ways to try and save some money. Example, if we did a tournament at Ky/Barkley and pick the weigh in site at Ken Lake (Ledbetter) and for everyone to launch There. Well, there would not be anybody fishing Barkley unless you run all the way up to the canal and crossed over. Then you would spend most of your tourney time driving and that could be bad as wiskers said. Alot of people may not know much about ledbetter area. But, since everyone had to launch from there, everyone one is forced to fish around the general area. When you pay an entry fee for a tournament, you do it with the intent to try to win and so you fish areas that you know you can catch good fish. If a person pays his/hers entry fee in advance, i don't see whats wrong with launching from where ever you want. If you didnt pay in advance but wanted to participate, then you would have to come to the weigh in site before launch time that morning.

The 2nd draft that pappy made for the rules looked good to me. Most everyone said they would be fine using CUSA rules. They are just about the same.

Theses tourneys are supposed to be about all of us getting to together, having some fun and shooting the bs. If we are going to have to worry about cheaters, we might as well quit now. I'm just a pea in the pot, what everyone else decides is fine.

Hey Chucky i think that cusa does have about the best set of rules out there, and it being a $30 entry fee I dont see anyone ruining their reputation to win $200 by cheating... it is always possible they will get caught. I also agree that the biggest thing about these tourneys will be the company and b.s. ......... With that being said I do think we should think about whether or not we want pro staff teams coming in and fishing these tourneys, after all it is just for fun and we should make sure everyone has a fair chance. If we do let them fish these tourneys I think we should be allowed to deduct 1 LB. from their total weight. I dont know any pro teams that would fish em but you can always tell pro teams from those flashy shirts they wear. Just an idea, but I'll go along with everyone else.

I don't know, its not a bad ideal about the 1 lb deduct, since they are pros. Maybe a higher entry fee since they have an advantage. But if we let them fish we may be able to learn some stuff, if nothing else, atleast learn how to look good doing it .

Slabslayer, what if those pro guys are members here, like ronnie capps, weezer, mr crappie, or some of the other guys. We can all learn some important tips from talking to them at the tourney. Why shut them out when it's only a fun tourney. And i understand the safety factor Whiskers, but that should only be considered if the forcast is for bad weather. Still think everyone should launch together regardless of motor size, but thats just my thoughts.

Chaunc, We were joking. There is a joke battle/show that has been going on between Slabslayer1(Jason) and t.stabseeker (Tim) for awhile now. It all started over a shirt and it has never quit, probably never will .

Thats why in one post Slabeye, said, it is worth just the show them two put on if you come to a tourney.
