some of the biggest crappie I have ever seen came out of the river in the winter near the power plants, I don't know much about hybrid sauger in there but the tempret bass family( stripers hybrids and white bass) are probably the most promanent game fish in the river (forgive my spelling) the sauger are a ball to catch if you can find them shallow one day deep the next, they have a very light hit but you get used to it after a while (vertical jig using a jig and minnow or jig and twister or blade baits) personally I like to drift and vertical jig to cover more water and catch the more aggressive fish, drifting can be a little more difficult than anchoring but you get the hang of it after a while.
