I thought I knew all there was to know about fishing until I read your post lol. I have learned most all I know from trial and error but every now and then even the know it alls like me learn something from others. Just kidding. I use a split shot above my jig about 75% of the time, trust me it makes a difference. I have always had trouble with my split shot sliding down to the jig. I usually try to crimp it real tight with pliers, but it does not last long. It can be frustrating. They just do not make things as quality as they use to. I like your idea of putting in a bobber stop to keep the sinker from slipping. I will try it. What kind of stopper do you use because sometimes those slide on me too?
