    I'm having all I can do to try to keep .5mph, especially with any breeze at all. Where I'm fishing, drift socks are NOT an option, maybe a couple 5 gallon buckets tied close. Also thinking of getting some sandbags for the bow?? My recessed front seat sits quite a ways back, therefore allowing the bow to rise up out of the water, more than I would like.

    I have a 48qt cooler that I used toput in the bow and fill just for a counterweight when i fished alone. Pull the plugs and let the extra weight run out. Kept a good sized scoop to fill it with. Worked great for me.

    Hey Skeet,
    Great idea, that could have worked for me with the original setup on my boat. When I positioned my new trolling motor, I had to downsize the cooler upfront!
