Ive only tryed the si on 455 with the di on 800.next I'll try the si on 800 with di on 455 and after that I believe from what im seeing in the menu option is that I can turn the di ping off while using si.if thats correct ill do that.

Update on my Onix. Spoke with the head engineer and on water tester Friday morning. Really good guys, I had dealt with Richard last year with the 360. We should be seeing an update for the booting speed and other glitches hopefully early April. They told me not to try to run the 360 and I pilot Link through the old 5PS ethernet switch as it will really not work well. I have already posted about that. Other stuff:

    1. The update on the Humminbird site for the Onix 360 has been having problems taking. (Mine will show "Failed" immediately after trying to update).
    2. I am seeing lots of problems with SI, check videos out:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhZyxec8C00

    Sorry about the sideways video.

They think it might be some type of interference from the 2D since some of the code shares parameters between 2D and SI. So I will go back on the water and try some things they suggested.

I am running software version 1.120.
deall11,I just looked at a 5 minute video that I have and I did see one quick flash of what appears to be old data.also. I viewed a utube video were another person has this happen also

    This is interesting kosmo ...

I wonder if both SI and DI were at 800kHz...and then you turned the DI ping off with this menu option...would the "washboard effect" noticeably change from being Visable to not being Visable...??

I sure hope that I can get rid of the washboard effect.it is really bugging me.ive gotten used to my 998 showing the real smooth clear bottom from the water column all the way out.dont get get me wrong,I really, really like the onix.the side imaging is only one part of the whole package and I really got the onix to primarily be used with the 360 ,which I haven't tryed yet because I need a longer ethernet cable because im going to do away with the switch and just hook strait to the control head.all that I need is a 10' extinction for my ethernet but I havent seen one shorter than 30' on the humminbird website.

Hi Kosmo, how's your 2D? Do you have any signs of interference like vertical lines on it? The engineers thought it was related to the SI problem and even thought my HDS12 was causing this but I ran the Onix alone an it still happened. Thanks for letting me know man.

Deil11,I was wrong about there being another person posting on utube.iwent back and looked and it turns out that the other video was also yours.deil11,ive seen those vertical lines on the 2d in your pictures.i have no vertical lines showing on my 2d.as you no i have my transducer mounted on my trolling motor.the only time that i see noise on the 2d is when im going real fast with the trolling motor and then make a quick turn.also my 455 on the si shows no noise but the 800 on si shows noise until i run the trolling motor fast enough that it quits pulsing.(also do you still hear a clicking coming from the onix control head?i dont have any noise coming from my control head.if my transducer is out of the water i can hear a little clicking noise when it pings and i also can lay my hand on the transducer and feel the pings

Clicking is supposed to be normal out of the unit. They told me Friday is the DI element running.

Their theory about the SI is that since the software uses information from 2D, if you have interference there it could affect the SI.

I no for sure that ill get rid of the wash board affect when I connect my 360.that will kill all pinging from the si/di on the onix transducer and I can use the si from the 360
