This is a possibility... I'm not sure myself.. I dont have a 798ci...

Try this...

Power on unit into "Normal"
Hit "Menu" twice to get into the main menu system
Tab over to the "Views" tab
Cursor down to see if any of the chart views are listed

If none of the chart views are even listed... Then the unit is not recognizing the antenna...(I think this is correct)..
