Default Question About 998 HB GPS Installation

I'm getting prepared to install a 998 HB on a friend's aluminum boat. The transducer will be a transom mount. My question is should I mount the GPS puck near the transducer at the rear or up near the unit in the front? Kind of like a stick steering except it has a side mounted steering wheel.
Also, would like to know how big of a SD card do we need to get for snapshots and recordings?

I would mount the GPS Receiver back by the transducer. This will make for more accurate waypoints versus mounting it XX feet away.

He should be able to fit plenty of Screen Snapshots on a 2GB SDHC memory card (don’t know if you can find a smaller SD card now-a-days). If he is going to making Sonar Recordings I would get a 4GB or larger SHC memory card or multiple 2GB SDHC memory cards. I recommend the SanDisk brand as they follow the SD Associations guidelines are we seem to have less complaints with them.
