Yeah Greg, I get it on the alligator weed now. It is definitely fun to yank them out of the alligator weed. I caught half of my fish in the stuff today. We will let it grow back to a certain extent. As long as it doesn't get out of control, it shouldn't be a problem. I can't say that I agree with you about the lack of alligator weed leading to less fish in the pool. Having structure like the alligator weed just gave everyone another place to catch crappie. Everyone is entitled to an opinion though.

Good catch Matt. I give you a 9.5 on that fish hold.

This is exactly right. I always look forward to when they make their Fall run up Gold Creek. The first few waves of Crappie that come in are chasing Shad that are feeding on the dying pads. When the pads are gone, they migrate to the Gator Grass. I dont think I have ever experienced a faster bite than when they are on this pattern. I have caught several 25 minute limits sitting in front of a single patch of pads, or a clump of grass. Once the water drops into the mid-50s, the brush bite starts to shine, but I have had MANY days in the past that I would have been skunked if it werent for the shallow bite. This year the cover just wasnt there to support that pattern, and I never saw the bite that I saw in years past.

Matt says they are going to allow a controlled amount of Alligator Weed to grow back, and I think that will help. I just hope the pads that were killed in the process eventually comes back as well.

Nice job, Matt! And I don't think CP can hold four fish better than that!!! I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think we are blessed to have a biologist that gets out on the water and fishes like we do, and loves it! I think we have a lot of better days ahead of us because of Matt, and Matt, and Tom! Good job, dude!
