Went to a Humminbird seminar at Grizzly last year and that's the one thing they stressed.....you can't break it pushing buttons. They encouraged us to just get on the water and experiment with it and don't be afraid to push the buttons!!! I agree with Blackfish about identifying crappie. If it's a brush pile you are looking at and you see a bunch of white dots like Christmas tree lights, it's probably crappie. But I know of no way to specifically look at a group of fish in the water on a side imager and say which ones are crappie and which ones are not. Size would probably rule out some, but other than that, I don't know.
