There are no secret holes on Dardanelle just maybe for the day. I caught all my fish verticle fishing dropping to the bottom and raising it up a couple feet in 25- 28 FOW. Early in the day I was in a shady area so I used a slabbandit called Louisiana shad which is a black back and bubblegum belly. After the sun got high I changed to blueberry pearl and hit the brushpiles. If you didn't drop it right down in the middle of them and to just off the bottom you didn't get bit. The hard part is verticle fishing in 10- 12 fow and not get hung up but that is where the lunkers are at. I have tried everything else, swimming a jig under a float and casting. Verticle is the only way I can get to them. You almost have to have a little chop on the water but too much wind and you can't hold. I use 10 Lb power pro high viz or I would lose every jig I dropped. Like I said earlier, I have a lot of faith in those Slab bandits. I get bigger fish and more violent strikes on them. If I get too far from a creek channel bank the action drops to zero. Hope I was some help.
