    Default A tiskit a taskit

I have crappie in my basket. Lake Dardanelle on the slab bandits. I love those baits from the crazy angler. I fished behind a very good crappie catcher and I triple his catch at the same spot. I am sold on them. I caught these believe it or not, in 17 to 25 fow. I caught maybe 25 but culled down to 15 gooduns. The biggest is about 2Lbs. The water this AM was 58 and warmed to 62 then the fish scattered.

I better get back to the hogs now.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

I and others would like just a little more info that might help our catch improve. Were you trolling or casting, what colors, 100,200,300? That should help us some. I am in SW Arkansas so don't worry about me being in your fishing hole. Thanks.

I have a friend that was bass fishing with crankbaits in Greeson the other day and caught two large crappie.

There are no secret holes on Dardanelle just maybe for the day. I caught all my fish verticle fishing dropping to the bottom and raising it up a couple feet in 25- 28 FOW. Early in the day I was in a shady area so I used a slabbandit called Louisiana shad which is a black back and bubblegum belly. After the sun got high I changed to blueberry pearl and hit the brushpiles. If you didn't drop it right down in the middle of them and to just off the bottom you didn't get bit. The hard part is verticle fishing in 10- 12 fow and not get hung up but that is where the lunkers are at. I have tried everything else, swimming a jig under a float and casting. Verticle is the only way I can get to them. You almost have to have a little chop on the water but too much wind and you can't hold. I use 10 Lb power pro high viz or I would lose every jig I dropped. Like I said earlier, I have a lot of faith in those Slab bandits. I get bigger fish and more violent strikes on them. If I get too far from a creek channel bank the action drops to zero. Hope I was some help.

I don't think you are talking about Bandit crankbaits. I am not familiar with slabbandit jigs. Where do you get them?

Crazy Angler...It is FlatFish's business and website. He is great to deal with and carries great stuff at great prices.
