Got on some stacked crappie this morning with the Ice Cube, and gave the rod a real workout! I had re-spooled the Luvias with Trilene 2 lb Sensation last night, and it performed flawlessly, except I couldn't hardly see it. Didn't matter with this rod, I distinctly felt every fish take the bait, either a thump, sudden weight, or absence of weight. Fish were up shallow over grass, and you had to run the jig just right; too slow and you were dredging green weeds, too fast and no bite. I was using a 1.5 g Daiwa gekkabijin jig with trout magnet (thanks, Randy!), and the rig got it done big time, yes sir, it did. I filled my cooler slap full, and one fish was 2lb 4oz, a new PB for me! The Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Power felt great, and casted that jig a mile. Best day casting jigs for crappie, ever!
