Is the microwave guides better or worse? I tend to like them myself and if needed I might order a couple more rods now to have them since it’s my favorite casting rod.

They add unnecessary weight to a rod. I have tested them repeatedly and I don't see any advantage in casting distance....I also don't see a hindrance to casting distance either. In the JDM UL world to me it is all about sensitivity....the lighter and more rigid the rod the more sensitive it is.....be it a JDM rod or US domestic rod. Of course a rod like the TSS from Trout Magnet...or B'n'M is not going to come with the guides I am used to and prefer. A set of Torzite guides for a 6' 9" spinning rod will run around 100 bucks...maybe a little more. So one won't find them on a 60 dollar rod. So I guess to answer your question for the rods they are used on it is neither better or worse. But many folks swear they get more casting distance with them. If that is what I liked that is what I would get. I am just guessing here but since B'n'M is going to be marketing the rod they decided the Microwave system was it needed.Quote:

I've caught small and large mouth to 16" nothing bigger than that...
Had fun with the Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ/Nano 71 JHSP today catching trout on the Chattahoochee river. It has a very good bend when you have a fish on, but it is stiff enough to feel your jig hitting limbs and rocks, oh yeah, and when a trout pile drives your jig! I was casting a small JDM plug I have recently become enamored of, and also some 1/16 oz gold hand-tied jigs I whipped up.
Sadly, I broke off a really big fish on 3 lb test Sunline sniper FC flouro. It was almost like the line was cut; fish was halfway to the boat, and suddenly - nothing. I doubt it was a gar, the water is too cold I think. I may bump up to 6 lb test. Also lost my last JDM lure I have been slaying them with (I have 16 more on order).
Going back tomorrow! Love it!

Nice catch, I think Plat had that rod on Summer Sale about a week ago and I almost pulled the trigger on it, but didn’t. Like Alphahawk says, when they put stuff on sale you better grab it right then. I have been killing the Slabs on the X-Ride and trying hard to resist getting yet another JDM rod. That rod or the Lunakia may tempt me to add another one to the arsenal.
