Had fun with the Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ/Nano 71 JHSP today catching trout on the Chattahoochee river. It has a very good bend when you have a fish on, but it is stiff enough to feel your jig hitting limbs and rocks, oh yeah, and when a trout pile drives your jig! I was casting a small JDM plug I have recently become enamored of, and also some 1/16 oz gold hand-tied jigs I whipped up.
Sadly, I broke off a really big fish on 3 lb test Sunline sniper FC flouro. It was almost like the line was cut; fish was halfway to the boat, and suddenly - nothing. I doubt it was a gar, the water is too cold I think. I may bump up to 6 lb test. Also lost my last JDM lure I have been slaying them with (I have 16 more on order).
Going back tomorrow! Love it!
