Just wanted to throw this out there but yesterday when fishing my new major craft triple Cross rod, I noticed it throws the small slip bobber setup a considerable distance farther than my St Croix rods. Of course it's a bit longer than those rods, but the ease that I can fling it out there is something I've never experienced before.
I'm hooked on JDM equipment, can't wait to purchase another one!!!
What mebaru rods do you own? I've recently bought an Ajing rod and was thinking about getting a mebaru rod.Quote:

Looks like a nice rod, I am sure the resident Guru will chime in on the blank used but I have no problems with any Major Craft rod that I own. I will say the Mebaru rod will have a little more limber tip on it, it will probably not feel as rigid as the as Triple Cross when you give it a good shake. The 7.3 is right in my wheelhouse when it comes to length, but I fish from the elevated deck of a glass boat most of the time in the warmer months. I noticed from an earlier post you made reference to a slip bobber set up on the Triple Cross. I would think a Mebaru rod would load up just as well or even a little better than the Ajing rod and give it a good whirl out there.
The N-One 73 UL is a very good rod weighing in at 3 ounces exactly. I don’t own one....but have a Major Craft Speed Style rod that is also made with the Nano blank. They are very strong rods and very sensitive. I’ll put this out there again. Go to Digitaka to check prices on rods.....reels. I doubt you will ever find anyone to beat a price on a reel that Digitaka sells. As to rods....maybe some can beat their price but it will be rare. They have the rod you mentioned for 190 bucks delivered to your door. At least that is the price today. The price will fluctuate depending on the days exchange rate. I have now bought 2 rods from Global Rakuten.....but that is because the companies I usually deal with do not carry Graphiteleader rods. I may go elsewhere.....though it is rare.....but I always begin my search at Digitaka and Plat. Plat has recently stepped up their game by offering free shipping on 2 piece rods.....I suspect to try to keep pace with Digitaka.....but that is just my thoughts.Quote:

Thanks for the replies...I put my Triple Cross to good use yesterday evening by pulling a few nice redear out from the buck brush here on Barkley. It was a ball catching them on that rod and the 2lb SOS line!
Got to go after some trout today with the 6’10” corto and the daiwa exist... 2lb sos and phantom leader brought around 25 brookies to hand. It was a nice day that I got to spend with my dad... he caught around 10 trout on 4lb line including a 19” rainbow... no monsters today but we had a great time... jigheads are waiting on me at the post office so used gold tm jigheads today... the rod and reel performed great! I was worried that the corto might be to stiff but it was not... hope to get back out again soon!
Does anyone have any experience with Favorite rods? I see they are made in Korea (I think). I have a bass fishing buddy who swears by them for finesse fishing. I see they make bass rods and some ultralight action rods as well. Just curious. Thanks.
