It's not JDM, but I'd consider the St. Croix Trout series. All of the rods 5'6" and longer are 2pc.

I have a 7ft light action trout series rod and it’s really the only US rod I want to keep... still haven’t been using it... but it has tamed many a nice trout... have a 6’9” st croix panfish series rod that is just collecting dust (it is a one piece and a little harder for me to transport) but still prefer the JDM rods
Thanks, this is the kind of review I needed. I have the 4x4 pickup that will get to those remote stretches of river now, but I DO NOT like my rods riding in the bed of the truck. So I plan to do something like this, only with a DIY PVC tube for now, maybe something nicer once I see how I like it.
VA ... Thanks for the offer, I have a couple of questions but will probably take you up on it.

I have the MC Benkei 672L which is a nice rod. Digitaka has it for $108.00
Hi everyone, I haven’t posted in a while but I am still reading your messages on this forum. I’m dropping a few line to let you know that I ordered the shimano soare CI4+ Ajing S408UL-S 4’8” rod for small creek fishing. I am going to pair it with my soare CI14+ 500S reel spooled with 2.3 lb ester with a 2 lb fluoro leader. My JDM jigs and spoons for this rod are in the 0.2-1.5g ... anyway I purchased it from the eBay seller Japonicano (matthew0408) last Sunday and it was already at my door today when I got home from work. It was unbelievably fast from Japan considering the global situation etc. I will post more pictures once everything is setup.
Take care!Attachment 379079

Warhawk, that is one sweet setup in the photo of the truck. It looks like it has it all.

I already have it setup with everything but a rod tube. I plan on organizing a tackle bag, then keeping it and the rod tube behind the seat in the Tacoma. Mine is an access cab so it doesn't have a rear bench seat, just two tiny fold down seats. Folded up they are out of the way and gives me lots of cargo room. And the windows in the rear doors, and the back glass are drank tint making it almost impossible to see anything behind the seat.
That is sweet!!! I looked it up. It’s made by L.L. Bean. $189. Now that I know where to look you can see the logo in middle of bag.
