Default Hello Ever One, New to this area.

Well though its about time I gave a shout out to all and say Hello. I move to Gadsden In August from Lake Ozarks Missouri. Just started fishing Last week. Catching a lot of dinks, 5 keeper so far. I've don't know the lake yet ( Henry Neely or Weiss). I'm use to shooting docks on Lake Ozarks but here, at lease where I've been the docks only have a few feet of water under them. Been finding them in deeper water in the creeks.

    Any way HI ever one

Welcome to Alabama I'm about as far south of you as you can get but it seems like most of the members here are up your way. Good luck on learning your way around

I went spider rigging once on Lake Truman in Missouri. It was about this time of year. but no where near 60 degree's more like 30. Jerky Log was set up with 3 poles on each side of the front. He use nothing but Minnows. The limit was 15 each over ten inches. We were limit out in about 2 Hrs.
I've been thinking of Spider rigging. Got the poles just need the Mount.

Hi Charley, I primary fish docks as well. I don't fish Weiss much but you will find a lot of deep docks on both Neely Henry and Logan Martin. Not sure what electronics you use or if you have any mapping software for the Cossa River but if so, just study them and look for docks where the river channel bends in close to the bank and then look at Google Earth to find docks in those areas (if your mapping software does not show docks). Another option even if you do not have a Navionics Card (Lake Master still has not made maps available for any of the Coosa river lakes yet, except Mitchell and Lay) You can go to the Navionics website and they have all of their maps available online for anyone to use free. If you use their online maps be sure to toggle the little icon on the bottom left hand side of the maps which will turn on recent sonar soundings and provide incredible current lake detail.

Welcome to the site. Good group of people. they will help any way they can I fish Neeley and weiss. you will find good fishing on both. Just depends on the time of the year as to what style of fishing works best. spider rigging is working right now and soon long lining will be. work the channels well.

Welcome! I moved to the Huntsville area 4 years ago after living in the Ft Leonard Wood, MO area. The fish here are larger, easier to catch than what your use too. The biggest adjustment for you will be fishing much shallower. You can typically find fish year round in 10 to 15 feet of water or less. No more jigging cliff edges in 60 and 80 feet of water.
