Hit the water at Brown's Creek about noon today and fished until 6:30. Caught 1 white crappie and a big perch in the first 30 mins while long-lining, then nothing for 3 hours. Water temp was 56 degrees. Tried to go to other side of causeway and found water temp was 61 degrees, but the whole place was whitecapped from the wind. Went and fished boat houses out of the wind and caught a couple decent bass. Finally sun popped out and wind layed down a little bit and we rode around until we found 60 degree water again and started fishing boat houses/docks again. Just like 2 days ago, we could catch one fish, then have to leave and come back in 10 minutes and could catch another. Ended up with 6 more really nice black crappie before having to leave.......all males though. Bite is still very subtle, and haven't gotten a single bite while the jig is on the drop; all bites come very close to the boat while reeling. I look forward to the day, actually fantasize about the day, when I can fish brown's creek and there is no wind. Also looking forward to the bite getting fully turned on and the water level getting back up, but the signs are starting to get better by the day. Too bad the weather is crap again for the next several days. BTW, most productive was 1/16 oz white jig w/monkey milk and w/blue/silver.
