    Default Fig Bread for Breakfast

I wanted Fig Bread for breakfast so cranked out 4 loaves. The Outdoor Writer was coming today and I wanted to send him home with a loaf and just got back from delivering a loaf to my dentist friend so they have some in the morning.

When they first come out of the oven I like to put the pans on the gas range to cool enough to handle. Takes about 10 minutes. After I pop them out of the pans and onto wire to finish cooling. You have to move fast or the pans get hot on the hands.

I pureed enough figs for 2-1/2 cups of fig pulp and added 2 cups of diced Black Mission figs. Also 2 cups of toasted chopped Walnuts was added for extra flavor and a different texture. Went down very good with a hot cup of Joe.

This morning we are slicing up another loaf and adding some whipped cream cheese first, then covering the cream cheese with massive Conandria fig slices, afterwards topping with brown sugar crystals before broiling. I will post up the results later.

Bud I have a mountain of Vietnamese Cinnamon baked in, the Very Good Stuff. I'm surprised you didn't smell it baking where you live.
