A lot of good information on different campgrounds and lakes. But which one you decide to go to,have a safe and enjoyable trip and show pictures of all the fish you both are going to catch.

You should check it out...pm me if you want more information.
I will check Gantt this week, we are planning on spending a week at each spot, kinda like fishing gypsys lol. We were planning on the 1st week at Talquin lake in Tallahassee but it could be second week with Gantt being the first

Well I made a executive decision this week and booked our first week at Lake Talquin in Tallahassee, second week we found a site on the water at Cresent lake, now I would like to stay a third or possibly a fourth week, but it depends on what the better half will agree on. All the places you guys recommended seemed good, I think if I get her to stay we will head sw of Cresent there looks to be plenty of good water around that part of the state, that too and I have buddy in Clearwater with 2 Kayaks we could fish out of.
I will report back in January when we get down there, thanks again.

Ps. I made a boo boo showing wife pix of the gaters down there, she now says she WILL NOT hang her butt over the boat when she has to go, and wont get off on a random bank!

I enjoy fishing Lake Talquin, only get over about two weeks a year though. Just watch where you are going the lake is full of stumps and tree tops. The ones above water are ok it is the ones that are just below the water level. It is great fishing and has some good size crappie also. We usually stay at Ingram's Marina. We have meet some nice people camping and the employees have always been real friendly. (Just my 2 cents worth.)

HAVE A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE TRIP

Thanks for the heads up on the stumps, I have looked at topo maps of the lake to get a game plan. Its good to hear you stay at Ingram's thats where I booked our 1st week, after calling to make reservations I was kinda concerned how informal they are about details, I didnt have to leave a $ deposit and he said he didnt need my address or phone number, which is ok but made me a little concerned.

We made it to Talquin late Friday, I was told there was a lot of rain last week, and now a cold front rolled in. We spiderrigged minnows sat and went fishless, Sunday I decided to fish were most the boats were, and managed 5 specks with the largest at 1.78 lbs. Wind rain and cold kept me and the wife in the motor home and have decided to head further south in the morning in search of warmer weather. I like Talquin and hope to come back later this month on the way home.
