Ended up camped at Lake Griffin state park and loved it, only draw back was having to launch everyday into a heavy milfoil bed at the ramp. Weather was tuff but after a day and getting some intel from Slab we were on the specks

After 10 days or so we headed to our final week long destination in Aster along the st.John's river. Again the weather was tuff multiple cold fronts and when it got warm in got windy (still better than corn country). We headed south on the river and fished Dexter and Woodruf and the (alligator infested water between them) lol there was a different gator every 50 yards along the bank. We fished minnows under corks and also pushed double minnow rigs, but spider rigging caught the most. I felt under gunned with only four 14ft poles off the bowl, and hats off to the guys who can run to 16 poles by themselves. We caught a good variey of size fish, but most were 1 to 2# range, and I tell you i could get used to 2# crappie, i fear i am now spoiled and will have to plan another trip for more Florida specks.Name: 20180114_122214.jpg
