That's the transducer for your Helix 5?? I have the regular 2D GPS combo. Mine doesn't look like that. Is yours a DI unit? If so that would explain the much larger size.

I had the same problem on my Tracker TX 175. It has to be lower that the hull. Put a fiberglass block on bottom of strake and bolted transducer to it. Garmin works fine now. Just have to make sure I don't run aground! From the last picture your transducer isn't low enough.

Are you talking about putting it on the bottom of the boat? Any way I could see a picture of what your talking about? Thankyou for the help!

Yes, mine is on the bottom of the boat, screwed to a runner on the bottom. Will be glad to send you a picture, but not sure how to load it. Can we swap emails and do it that way, or if you can tell me how to load a picture then I will try that. Either way.

Just my 2cent. But I think it needs to move more toward center of boat. Right on the corner is a lot of turbulance being caused. Maybe just a tick lower in the water also. Just my thinkin.

I'm gonna go to Walmart and get a cutting board to make more mounting board to move it closer to the center an down then if that doesn't work I'm gonna attempt to make some sort of extension to keep slick clean water under it

I am replying to your pictures from the fish finder screen. You have the setting on switchfire max mode if I am seeing it correctly. This mode lights up virtually anything. I very rarely use this as it tends to clutter up the screen. That said, it is possible that you may be seeing a thermocline at the 20 ft level.

So I took a look at the back of the boat and due to the trailer bunks and the strakes on the underside of the boat I would have to put the transducer right beside the motor...I think that should work as long as it's deep enough? May submerge the whole thing then make a rooster tail shield? What do yal think about it being that close to the motor?
