Default Report on Orange Grove and my new hat.

We had a busy morning including a Dr.'s appointment for Linda, so we left after lunch to give it a try. Well that's about all we did was try. Linda caught 2 chinks tight lining a mini assassin in blue and white on the bottom in 3 foot of water. I caught the one bass on a RoadRunner while casting to a well cribbing. No one we ran into were catching. We cut it short because Linda had gotten overheated. I put some ice water on a towel around her neck and we headed to the dock. Just as we pull up a flash of lightening went across the sky. I got the boat loaded and tied down and off we went. One block from the launch we got hit by some heavy rain but it was short lived. When we arrived home it was nice and dry. Sorry no pics as I was more worried on getting Linda cool off.

ps: I could use some help by winning the Sliders.
pps: The new hat didn't do any good so I reverting back to my old one.

I went today too Mr. Gene. The heat is aweful. Early morning or late evenings from now on. Tried an afternoon trip in the copasaw. Lilies and grass everywhere. Won't be going in that direction for a while. Picked up 3 sacs and 8 bluegill. Fished hard for those. .

Sorry to hear about Ms. Linda. Hope she recovered. It hasn't been this hot in quite a while and we had no breeze today either.
The only place up here producing anything seems to be Henderson. Around here is just nasty. Water will drop 6 inches and along comes the big rains and it goes up a foot. Can't seem to catch a break. Getting so bad, I'm thinking about selling the boat and buying a pop-up. At least we've have something to do. (Just kidding.) I might buy a pop-up but I WON'T sell the boat. Trade it in on a new one, yes.
Maybe by July we'll get some action. I'll let you know so I can show you around Sorrel and Pigeon.

You did the right thing by taking care of Mrs. Linda. The fish will always be there.

Paul, I'm looking forward to that trip. It would be a first for me in that area.

Todd, yeah the heat was tough. I had plans to hit some of my summer spots but after the first one and Linda started feeling the heat, we left. It was probably the last trip for her for this summer unless I rig her up an umbrella, which I might.

JR, the pictures might have to wait until I head north and hit the river. I hope you're enjoying your trip. The fish miss you.

Get a Sport Brella. Trust me its a life saver. Sam's club had them on sale last summer for around $30. Get some heavy walled PVC pipe, a T, an elbow, and an end cap to build a holder. Drill the end cap with a hole just large enough for the umbrella pole to help keep the umbrella stable. There are also holders available online.

That heat is a beast ! Maybe you could try a different hat .. Haha

My son is superstitious . He carries a duck decoy around with us whether it's sacalait fishing or deer hunting . Whenever we do good , he credits the decoy . Lol

I bought that same umbrella last year and made the exact same holder out of PVC. Didn't use it yet, but its about time to break it out.

After the first time you use it you are going to kick yourself for not using it sooner.
