I debated that thought but decided I wanted to be able to swing it quickly if I got a fish on and it was in my way.....works for you....works for me.....

Nice Bruce. With mine, instead of the elbow on the bottom, I went with another tee and a short piece of pipe. Thus, that portion would touch the deck. Figured that would keep it from swinging around. Not sure if that helped or not, but doesn't swing.

Good idea Bruce - didn't think of that, being able to swing quickly. Think I will cut that piece off.
This thread made me think of the tee handle wrench Danny showed me he has that tightens/loosens drain plugs. Made of 3/4" PVC. I tend to over tighten things from being in the oilfield. Rough on the fingers. Meant to do that but forgot.

Went ahead and made a tee wrench for the drain plug. After looking at the parts, went with 1/2" PVC. I believe that's what Danny used instead of the 3/4" I mentioned earlier. This will work out nicely:

Just in case someone is considering adding a umbrella to their setup, Academy has these on sale for $29.99. The pole fits good in 1.5" PVC pipe and several colors to choose from. I got a Yeller one.
