I mounted mine where I can sit in the seat and have plenty of room to turn and such but can reach them fairly easly. Dont get em TOO close, take into consideration that someone fishing with you way be a bigger person. I like to have room to move around, swivel to get the net without bumping the other person and such.

    Default Spyderlok rigging question

Mount em where you can reach them easy. Leaning forward ALL DAY is hard on the lower back, and you will miss more fish reaching for the rods when the bite is lite. "G" nailed this one both times.

You can thank me later. Spyderlok rigging question

Size: 27.5 KB This is how I did mine.....trolling motor is not in the way the way I mounted it. And I have since changed to Spyder Lok rod holders and also added a adjustable stand for my fish finder.

G's boat is clearly different than mine. See my first pic. His seats are way closer to the front bow deck. Both of our bow decks are short, but his seats are way closer.

Maybe I'm being anal about all this........but just have no frame of reference like y'all do.

I guess there's two thoughts.......one is that it's just holes in my deck!! I can always drill four more if they are in wrong place. Two is that I guess I'll put them in a compromise and get them closer to me, and just use 12 and 14' rods........and hope for the best. And if that doesn't work, I can fall back to the Dubl-Seat and moving them closer to the front, I guess. Not sure what else to do.

    Thanks for the assistance, guys.

I'm no expert by any means but i will agree that you wanna be close to the rods...both for comfort and for better hook sets, I'm a (relatively) young man and i learned quickly that the closer the better on the back. due to the configuration of my front deck hatches, i went with the tempress brand wally marshall double seat, it has worked well for me, some folks anchor it with a pedestal on the center post but i have found it to be plenty stable and it allows me to have rack up front and move seat to just the right spot and no additional holes in boat. my front deck is fairly narrow so i just turn the seat backwards and swivel to the outside to sit in it, walking my feet along the edge of the gunnel. i'm in conway if you would like me to bring it by sometime and let you set it in your rig to see if it would be potential. give me a call or text...479.858.27zerozero
