There is NO water being released rite now, lake is actually 1.9 feet over curve so not sure why they are holding it. Good luck and have fun.

Being an adventurous sort and perhaps a glutton for punishment, I am giving serious consideration to going to the Grenada spillway one of these upcoming nights (supposed to be plenty cold) and trying snagging again. I have not been this year...I don't think. Me and my Pop were down there last week catching cats, and there were several guys catching some pretty nice crappie up in the day. Might be better in the wee hours of the morning.
If I am reading the rule right for Grenada, and that is a BIG IF, the lake is hanging slightly above the rule right now. Does that mean the COE will (might possibly) keep a gate or two open a bit?
Any professional snaggers have a take on this? Good time? Bad time? Likely a waste of time since I don't know what I'm doing! OH oh oh and one more thing, should I take the boat or just stand on the rocks? I was thinking them rocks might be froze over, but again, I'm guessing.

Heads up, I know there's a lot of different views on snagging, but as long as it's done legally, lets respect that and not take this thread the into the wrong direction (like that other one). doh
Thanks Rees. No water seems like it might be a wasted trip. Hmm. Still it could change in a couple of days I guess.
Slab, the funny thing is that I didn't know that there were a lot of different views on snagging, and I have no idea how to do it legally or illegally. I don't know one way from the other as that ain't my thing. I'm about living and letting live, and the only reason I started a new thread was to try to find out conditions and elicit some suggestions. It was not and is not my intention to cause trouble.
Some folks are going to fuss because fussing is what they love. I am not that person.
Them fish can't climb back over the dam and they are headed down stream to the ole mighty Mississippi. Once they get there u ain't supposed to eatem any way.
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.
Guess I should have read the Sardis spillway thread first!!

Here's a good and handy link to the spillway discharge, scroll down to the bottom and the Big 4 are listed, over to the right of the screen there will be a column that says discharge CFS, todays report is not there prolly due to the guberment holiday.
