We used to catch a bunch of fish there back in the days of Crappiethon tagged fish tourneys. I have a few old Grenada newspaper clippings where we won a tagging tourney there single poling to catch the fish Crappiethon used to put dollar amount tags in.

    Default Snagging

I have a stupid question, but are all snagged fish legal to keep? I'm only asking because you can only keep rough fish here that are snagged.
By rough fish, they mean carp, buffalo, gar etc. we have to release all game fish such as crappie, bass and catfish

I don't have any idea about Grenada or snagging legality. But I used to see it done a lot below the Barnett spillway in late March and early April when we had a lot of rain in the Pearl basin. Quite a few people just stood on the bank and made casts with multiple jig rigs. They just appeared to cast, let it sink and jerk, jerk and jerk some more. I prefer to feel that familiar "tick" and catch em in the mouth.

If there are enough in there to snag, they will hit jigs under a cork

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll drag the boat and give her a whirl. Using Ree's link, I see that they have the spillway running some, so if I don't wise up, I'll probably hit it tonight or tomorrow night.

I tried snagging in the lower lake at Sardis before the weir was built for spoons. A broom stick for a rod. Penn Senator reel with 120# mono. 10 to 16 ozs of weight and a pair of 16/0 to 20/0 treble hooks. Snagging all day for 10 to 20 spoons was work.
My last visit to butla spillway I found a sign that says no larger than a single #2 hook can be used when fishing there. So check for signs and be within the law.

I was planning to go down early in the morning, but I just read a 70% chance of snow showers. I may be skipping it until early Thursday morning.
