I'll amend that...........the farther south, the less wind you have to deal with. Barnett is the place to be!

Simple, Adopt TEXAS crappie law. 25 fish limit 10" minimum length. Add $100.00 fine for every fish over the limit on length and number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That will fill everyones habit, catch ,keep and count to 25. Game wardens make county plenty of fine money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hire more law ??? deputy sheriffs and constables have the same authority as wardens to write wildlife tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sit down and shut up end of conversation I win!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no money for more enforcement, wont be any so trying to make a push on enforcement is not the answer to anything in the game and fish world here in MS. Frankly I dont see a problem with any of the lakes, they all cycle, mother nature has WAY more control than fishermen do. a bad spawn and a huge spillway with the capability of dumping 5700 cubic feet of water a SECOND do more harm to the numbers than anything. Last year, maybe year before last, they tagged some crappie at Enid with transmitters to follow them, this was done after winter draw down. A large percent, 35 to 40%, went out the spillway.
The answer is: when the fishing is good, go fishing and enjoy yourself. When the fishing is slow, go fishing and talk of the "the good ole days". Nothing has changed, period. IT'S NOT GONNA BE KILLER GOOD EVERY YEAR.
Sorry for the rant, and Sharphook it weren't aimed at you just quoted because of the enforcement thing.

I come to Grenada, Enid and Sardis for the chance to catch a big fish, we took home no fish the last 2 years in the fall and very few from in the spring. I can catch way more fish up here because i have more people to follow around to find their secret places and I spend alot less time retrieving boats. I really come down for camp and if I catch fish fine, if I dont it isnt going to ruin my trip. Now everyone cant do that or there would be 2500 people at camp and that might be worse than not catching fish. So just let me come catch a few fish, see my old friends and make a few new ones, and feed me well and I for one will be happy.
