People been snaggin 3-4 lb fish coming out the spillway at grenada lately. There are big fish there. Grenada is a tough cookie to crack, it has more extreme changes due to rain, gets muddy and jumps quick. Its hard fishing the chocolate milk... Maybe you just aint holding your mouth right?....

Been fishing there 40 years.......back as a kid. Last year was the worst year I have seen. Quality was ok, but numbers were way, way down. The times I went, it was hard to catch 7-10 fish.

Keeper numbers will be small on all four lakes this year and probably next year as well. When the keeper fish are whittled down this spring, there is nothing behind them, especially Sardis..
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I know people thats fished it for 50+ years and can catch a crappie out of a bucket of sand that never caught more than 8-10 fish and thats retired people that fish everyday daylight til dark.

Here is part of the problem, the guys that are fishing it everyday and taking out fish. Sure the number of fisherman that come down and fish it doesn't help but the locals know the lake and can catch fish even when the other people cant. We fished it last year and had no idea where to go until someone told us and when we got there it looked like the Spanish armada had arrived. I can bet you that well over half the boat there were locals that were fishing it everyday. I think we caught 7 fish that day and had over 17 lbs, so no, not numbers but the day of a lifetime for size.

This is a problem when you want your cake and eat it to. The business want the money from sales and hotel rental along with gas, food etc. They advertise a good thing and the word is out. 40 years ago taking a vacation to a lake to fish for 4or 5 days was a luxury. Now I can be at Sardis in 8 hours and have the monitory resources to stay a week. Yes I buy all my food, gas, lodging etc there but I also use the resource. I follow the rules and keep only what the State say I can. That is still a lot of people using the lakes in the area. Then add the local folks that are fishing at least 2 days a week all year and the pressure has really gone up. Then add in the folks [ local and out of staters] that don't play by the rules and double dip etc. In Illinois the State figures the deer poaching is as high as the actual reported kills. We have hurt out heard by over harvest and I am sure that eventually Mississippi will have to reduce the limits, raise the size or something to protect the resources of the state before they go the way of Illinois and Arkansas.

Boa3 where do those numbers come from, I don't think they are poaching 150,000 deer a year, Ive never seen an article on anything like that
