Most man made stuff (MSG, and additives that make food "taste good") that doesn't get processed by the kidneys or liver, finds it's way into fat cells. Fact: Fat cells divide and multiply (mutate).....you don't loose fat cells, you reduced the size of the fat in the cells that have mutated. The only real way to REMOVE fat cells is liposuction. Protien cells, i.e. muscle, DO NOT mutate and divide. They individually grow because of good nutrition and exercise. When you go an a radical diet (NO carbs, Southbeach diet, etc.) the first placed the body looks to for nutrition (fuel) is protein (muscle)...so you can loose weight by shrinking your fat cells, but unless you eat plenty of good protein and exercise, you will loose muscle mass, in turn... strength, in turn....aide the aging process. So when you loose weight, have you noticed that it always comes back quicker than it went off, and usually a few extra pounds for all your trouble? There's a reason. Fat cells are still there, craving to be fed. There are 9 different hormones and processes the body uses to break down protein for proper placement in your body for energy and nutrition., five hormones and processes for fat, and three steps to process sugar. Sugar and fat go, almost, directly to the cells that store them...fat cells. And they get there quick. The longer it takes your body to break down food stuffs, the better, because it does it slowly, naturally, and uses every bit of nutrient it can before you expel the unneeded waste. In general, newest studies from people who do not have a horse in the race, indicate that pure butter, pure sugar (not corn syrup fructose crap), and anything natural in moderation is MUCH better for you than anything artificially made...."So Lite it Tastes Like Butter", and all that crap. Remember......TRUE: artificial sweeteners have zero/low calories, BUT they develop an addiction to "sweet". Coming off a addiction like that can take two weeks or longer, and it will really mess with your head. Almost as hard as nicotine or dope. I strongly suggest a great read: "The Calorie Myth"....it will rock your boat!!!! Who ever reads it first....get back with me. I'd love to have your feed back. And I truly don't have a dog in the fight. Just want every body to be as healthy as they can be. My wife is a NASMA licensed personal trainer, degreed in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis on nutrition. Docs and dieticians all are in the same "Food Group Nutrition Box" they were taught to stay in...Docs typically have one or two classes in college on nutrition, and generally they are electives. Who are they to know about good nutrition, except for what text books written by people with agendas have written. Know who made the "Food Pyramid" we all were taught to follow in school? Food companies and their lobbyists.
One more thing: Supplements: Are regulated by NO ONE. What they say is in the bottle doesn't necessarily mean that it is in the bottle. No oversight by any one. When you read the bottle and it says "other ingredients", always be suspicious ...what ARE the other ingredients. Several companies recently have gotten in deep trouble by adding HGH's and testosterone to their Super Duper Best Ever Protein Muscle Builder Powder, so they can get better results than the next company.....and nobody regulates them. Puts tremendous strain on the liver and kidneys, unknowingly. Unless you find the identification. .."NSF" ...which guarantees that the bottle contents have been "tested and certified"....run, and run fast. Without this certification, you don't know what you're putting into your body. Incidentally, with the NSF designation, professional athletes and Olympic athletes can take the contents of a bottle with complete guarantee for blood testing for doping, etc. Herbs are generally good, but did you know this: A leaf from a particular herb can be good for you, the stem may be moderately good for you, but the root may be poison. One herb may be good for you and so may another, but when combined they maybe very harmful, and most of these supplement companies refuse to do the adequate scientific, third party, blind studies that validate their product. It's a "Buyer Beware" notice on the bottle.
WOW!!! sorry for the rant, but good, unbiased information is TRULY hard to find, and I don't claim to know it all, certainly not. But, I have done EXTENSIVE individual research, read and listened to ALL sides, and have come to these conclusions for me personally. Thanks for your patience...now, GO FISH!!!!!
