    Default Looking for a boat

When my 2 sons died and then my 2 fishing buddies died I thought I would give up fishing for good. But I've given it up long enough now so I am looking for a cheap dependable rig. Preferably one with high gunnels and must have a floor in it. If you see one or know of one please let me know. Thanks

What style do you think you want? A tiller-controlled boat? One with a side console? How big a motor you thinking?

I really don't think I want another tiller controlled and not sure about motor size but then it would all depend on the rig and what kind of deal I can get on it. I gotta keep cost down.

If you want a stick boat, check the following websites: Royal Boats (top of the line custom stick boat), Progator Boats (dealer in Clyde NC) Model 154S.
Alternately, what used to be the Tidecraft Bayou Boat is still being made to order. Contact: Melvin Smith Webster Boat Sales, Minden LA (318) 377 5703.
A Hull runs about $4500-4800. Shipping is around $600. Remember, you pay for shipping a new boat no matter where you buy it.
Fully rigged out any new stick boat will run around $10-18K depending on your tastes. All the comforts of home without the $50K price of a bass rig (and less than half the gas to tow it or push it.)

My sympathy for all of the loss. Been through the ringer myself this year. Seems to me to be the cost of living so long.

Bill, that is good to hear. I know you liked to fish. I also understand losing the desire after all you have been thru. I'm very glad to see you get the itch. Thought about you and the other Bill while I was at VA Beach this weekend. You could almost hear the water calling your name.

This is for you ole buddy!
