Buggs Fri - Sun
All I have to say is I love that lake!!!
Fished Buggs for 3 days and caught 70+ all days ended up with 7 over 15 and had a blast doing it.
Caught fish doing about everything but all but one big fish was caught casting jigs some with minnows in mid depth 5-15 ft laydowns and flooded brush in deep cove and lake pockets. Fished Bluestone mostly but did hit a few smaller creeks. Worked pearl and chart curly tails and in the more stained water cajun cricket. On fri in the crazy storms I found a protected pocket in bluestone and stayed there most of the morning going from tree to tree only one big fish. Rest were caught sat and Sun.
Did some tightlining shallow and deep with decent results but mostly avg fish nothing big. Did catch a mixed bag of bass, catfish, white bass but surprisingly no blue gills.
Water temps in the mid 70s and pretty clear for this time of year on buggs. There were fish shallow as well and some have already spawned out. Did keep 40 or so in the 11-13 range for the freezer the ones I could tell have already layed. All 15+ fish were returned.
Great time with the kids and the girlfriend which caught almost half of the citations. SHe was using live bait so that doesnt count right George LOL! I am lucky to find one that loves to fish as much as me LOL!!!
