Motor i have is a mercury 60hp 4 stroke. Have the fins on it already. Wonder if the holes will line up. I have read many reviews on easy troller. Would u get one with fins on it or just the plate. I hardly ever run very fast at all?

Now my question is when trolling at what degree of angle should your poles be at? I have some monster rod holders on my boat. I have 4 33 degree ones, and 4 33/45 degree ones. My boat is a 1754 center console tracker with the versatrack system.

K thanks for everyones help. This is why i like coming to this site. some very good information. Thanks again

I long line troll and go between .4 and .8 MPH using my GPS and almost always a 1/32 oz Roadrunner type bait. I have been doing this since the late 1970's, but I only do that in spring and fall.

I only use one rod and in my hand all the time. If someone goes with me they use one rod in hand.

I was just trolling state boards and saw the trolling questions. Go the the south carolina board and click on the long Lining (trolling) posts. About everything you need to know is on there. I live in NC and fish mostly in SC the guys are full of info and willing to share
    Good luck

For pulling cranks, vary the sizes. I use Arkie 350 and 220 series cranks. As far as color, that's a loaded question. I just keep changing until I find something they will hit. I have 4 or 5 of each color and size. Angle of your poles is not as important as the amount of line out and speed in my opinion. You can look on the Mississippi boards and there are crank bait charts that give running depth for amount of line out and speed traveled. Takes some guess work out of it. Hope this helps a little.
