The outboard was running at the time of that particular shot. I was motoring down a creek. That is the default setting on the Garmin which I hadn't bothered to change (probably won't for reasons you listed.) Mine is an 8 yr old Merc 90 4 stroke.

That's off my 9" Garmin echoMAP 93sv on the console. It retails for $1199 and there is a $100 rebate right now on all the echoMAPS. I went from a Lowrance HDS9 Touch to it and like it much better (a little simpler for an old geezer like me.) I replaced an Elite 7 up front with the 7" echoMAP downvu. Here's a couple more from the same trip.
