Thread: I'm getting better

But not by much. Went back to Greenwood today. Got 9 (5 crappie 4 bass) yesterday. Ten today (9 crappie 1 bass) but the crappie were all good size. I can't weigh, but I'd guess 4 were around two pounds. Started at 8:45 and caught 7 by 11:00, then they hit the off switch. All caught at the Reedy/Saluda confluence; I counted 18 boats in that very tight area; nothing down the Saluda toward the 221 bridge. Biting mainly Road Runners with some combination of Funky Monkey. Water temp was 64 degrees. Looks like Greenwood is slowly getting active.

Keep huntin. One day you will hit the home run on em. Thanks for the report.

Each trip tends to get better on Greenwood as the water warms. Good to see you are putting some good fish in the boat.

Dang, wish I would have known that, we both pulled out of the ramp at about the same time. That's a good looking rig.

I think everyone on Greenwood decided to put in at Riverfork (some guys actually had to park out on the road) and then leave at the same time. When I got to the ramp there were around six or seven boats staged. Since I was solo and the tongue on my trailer submerges, I have to jump to and from the dock, which is very time consuming and frightening, so I let everyone go ahead of me including the additional five or six that came in after me. It took over an hour just to get to the dock, then three more boats show up. I hate making people wait so it got very frantic, which means that Murphy's Law kicks in. I got to find a better way or ramp.

What's your rig look like? Always nice to know peeps on the water.

I'm in a blue BassTracker. Crappie.com stickers on the side. I'm usually standing up the entire day instead of sitting down. I know what you mean about Murphy's law. I can usually get in and out in just a few minutes, but yesterday I got in a hurry because so many people were stacked up waiting so I rushed it. Well, got the trailer in a little too deep and when I drove up on the trailer, the stern floated up and over the rear side rollers and there I was wedged in with the boat at an angle and not even touching the bow roller. So I had to haul it out like that, get in line, put it back in the water deep enough to float it over the roller, get out, pull the trailer up, get back in, take her around and motor back on the trailer. I've never apologized to more people at a ramp than I did yesterday.

You were right in front of me. That boat will scoot. I can't throttle all the way up because of break in, but I think you would have easily won a race anyway.

I think you were right beside me at the "devils triangle" as I was threading through three boats and my biggest of the day got on. That fish thought he was a bass and broke water twice. I was getting all kind of looks.

I'll keep an eye out for ya. You fish Greenwood often?
