Nightstalking only gets better the colder it gets. There really isn't a time to quit if that is your preferred method of catching 'em. All the bugs made me stop night fishing in the spring and I generally got started back nightstalking right after deer season ended the first of January. In the winter time the bait bunches up more and the fish stays with the bait. What I'm saying is thru trial and error of setting up in different locations on different nights looking for that great bite, once you find 'em you will be in fish all winter long.
