Thread: Nightstalk on wateree?

Hey Tim if you want to do a night stalk on Murray let me know. I got a couple bridges I would like to try.

Sounds good don, i would like to get the wife out with us, i knew we could always get out on murray with you. I think maybe friday oct 21 would work barring any massive rain, cold is no biggy as we got all our cold weather gortex if need be from mn. Depending on how many people are going, we can fish both boats if needed. I was also thinking using three way swivels on my rods with two hooks for minnows on 6 pound fluoro carbon for each rod. Is there any sc law i know of that would prevent that?

There are no laws concerning how many rods or how many hooks on each rod. That sounds good I will plan on that night to give Murray a go. We will see if anybody else wants to join us as to how many boats to take. I will try to get somebody to do a night stalk before then. I am Leary of going out alone. You want to put it on the main board and see if some of our upstate people want to join us.

I kinda regret buying those concert tickets next weekend but the wife and i havent seen zac brown band in over a year. Maybe neil can get out before then but yes i think you should make sure someone goes with you. I think the north caolina guys monitor south carolina enough that they should see a post on the south carolina section if you want to post it. I would recommend providing an address to nearby landings for the big and little saludas, big manns is nearby. I recall two good bridges on each. I think the cooler temps should start making these areas good for fishing.

Wateree lake is one of the premier lakes in SC for fall and winter crappie fishing. No need to night stalk unless that is your preference. Tightline the main river channel with minnow tipped jigs from the State park north to areas near the cedar creek dam. Usually you can just look for the fleet of boats to put you near some biting fish.

Ink whats the preferred water temp ir depth for crappie in fall and winter to bit during daytime so i can narrow down the possibilities? I would be curious when they start biting good during the day. Appreciate the help. Thank you.

If you like a walleye fight you need to give the wateree striper a try. In a couple weeks (water temps 70 or below) they will be schooling on the surface all day long. Starting about November the seagulls arrive and just watch for them dive bombing the water. Bring a buck tail or swim bait with about 12lb test and a rod you can really cast. Lower dam to about June creek are best till January then the upper 1/2 of the lake is best.

I would love to give it a try or troll for them' so much i want to do. How much longer until nightstslking crappie is no longer a thing until next summer?
