Well, I finally got a chance to put the boat in the water on Friday. The day started out very cold, but was tolerable once the sun got high up in the sky. The water was a cold 40 to 43 degrees, the winds were light, and the fish had lock jaw. I did manage to get 2 bites, and catch two fish. The first was a channel cat, the other a nice crappie. Here ya go, my first fish of the year.

Snow on the dock??? Man I am staying home til it gets warmer. Course I fished Monday in 65 degree weather and by Tuesday evening it was snowing, then it got really cold. Now it is warmer and raining. Geez!!
Good job Tim. Just getting out in that stuff deserves some credit.

Tim, I would have loved to see those two fish come over the side of my boat! I tried yesterday for the first time in 2014 for 2-3 hours, and although I saw lots of fish suspended, "lockjaw" is too kind a term. I had one light bite and it turned out to be a small white perch....so a pic of my first crappie will have to happen later....hope it's as nice as yours was!
